Verona are looking for a new head coach after Andrea Giani resigned from that position on Wednesday evening. Recall that Giani decided to make such a move because his team got eliminated from the Italian Cup by losing the home match against Sora.

The rumors about his successor have already started spreading across Italy. According to gazzetta.it, Nikola Grbić is the first choice of Verona!

Grbić currently works as head coah of Serbian men’s national team, while he has already had a short adventure in Serie A1. He was the head coach of Perugia in the 2014/15 season, however that episode did not end really well and the two sides parted ways after Perugia failed to win any trophy in that season.

The biggest achievement so far in Grbić’s coaching carrer was winning the gold medal with Serbia in the World League 2016.

Until Verona appoint the new head coach, Matteo De Cecco (assistant coach) will be leading the team.
