Milano leveled the score in sets twice but succumbed in the tie-break to Modena (7-1) who once again could not count on Slovenian Tine Urnaut. Modena had as much as 16 kill blocks of which Giulio Sabbi made 5. As for an attack, the Frenchman Earvin Ngapeth scored 25 points. In Milano, the Dutch Nimir Abdel-Aziz made 30 points, including 5 aces.
Defending champions Cucine Lube Civitanova (7-1) needed four sets to break the resistance of home side Gi Group Monza, partially 25-20, 25-22, 20-25, 25-23. Both sides showed huge blocking display (Lube 17 – Monza 15). Osmany Juantorena highlighted the winning side with 21 points.
Sir Safety Conad Perugia (8-0) and Calzedonia Verona had an easy job against Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia and Biosì Indexa Sora.
