ITA W: Novara and Scandicci still undefeated, new coach didn’t help Casalmaggiore, powerful comeback of Diouf

Igor Gorgonzola Novara and Savino Del Bene Scandicci followed the footsteps of Imoco Volley Conegliano, who reached 6-0 yesterday, to reclaim the top spot in the rankings.

The defending champions Novara had an easy job with Foppapedretti Bergamo, 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-22) thanks to 12 points from the Dutch Celeste Plak.

Scandicci achieved a hard-fought win on the road against myCicero Pesaro, 3-2, but gave away No.2 in the rankings to Novara. Once again, the Swedish teenager from Scandicci, Isabelle Haak, showed her class – 30 points! The Brazilian Adenízia Silva did the same with blocking – 6 kill blocks.

The downfall of Pomì Casalmaggiore continued even with the new coach. The powerhouse lost to Il Bisonte Firenze despite having a 2-0 lead in sets and have a 1-5 record in Serie A1! Indre Sorokaite topped Il Bisonte with 22 points.

Valentina Diouf returned to the squad of Unet E-Work Busto Arsizio after two weeks and spiced up the play of the most pleasant surprise this season (5-1) by scoring 16 points in a 3-0 win over SAB Volley Legnano.
