International Volleyball Hall of Fame welcomes five new members from Class of 2017

The International Volleyball Hall of Fame in Holyoke, Massachusetts, USA, welcomed five new members from the Class of 2017, the 32nd induction class overall.

Five volleyball legends were inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame in the volleyball’s birthplace in Holyoke, Massachusetts. They are: two indoor volleyball players – the Dutch Ronald Zwerver (the 1996 Atlanta Olympics gold medalists) and Irina Kirillova-Parkhomchuk (the 1988 Seoul Olympics and 1990 FIVB World Championship gold medalist, and the 1989 and 1991 CEV European Championship winner), one indoor volleyball coach – the Swedish Anders Kristiansson (45 titles won in club tournaments in four countries), one leader – the Chinese Jizhong Wei (the third President of the FIVB , 2008-2012) and one beach volleyball player – the Brazilian José Loiola (the 1999 FIVB World Championship and World Tour gold medalis).

These five athletes increased the number of inductees to 135 individuals representing 23 different countries.
