Vibo vs. Trentino
Trentino have played the tie-break for the third time in the last four rounds of Serie A1 and finished them all in their favor. In Round 11, Trentino had the home side Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia twice in their hands before being forced to defeat them only in the fifth set – 3-2 (25-20, 22-25, 27-25, 25-27, 15-12). In the absence of Luca Vettori from the lineup, the Canadian Nicholas Hoag led Trentino in offense with 16 points. Oleg Antonov scored 18 points for Vibo against his former club.
Sir Safety Conad Perugia were victorious against Taiwan Excellence Latina on the road by a 3-1 but with a spectacular opening set – 41-39 for the side coached by Lorenzo Bernardi! Ivan Zaytsev was the most prominent figure of the match, scoring 24 points (3 aces and 3 kill blocks). The Japanese Yuki Ishikawa, who has just returned to Latina from the University Championship in his home country, probably played the best game since he arrived at the club in 2016 – 18 points.
Azimut Modena had an easy job against Bunge Ravenna at home – 3-0. The Slovenian Tine Urnaut stood out in Modena with 15 points.
