Osaka Marvelous are one step away from the SV.League crown after a stunning sweep over defending champs NEC Red Rockets in the championship opener. In front of a buzzing crowd at Ariake Arena, Osaka took full control, cruising to a 3-0 win (25-14, 25-10, 25-21).
Belgian opposite Lise Van Hecke took charge for Osaka Marvelous, putting up 16 points and leading the way. NEC couldn’t quite get into a groove, with their top scorer Yukiko Wada coming off the bench and finishing with 9 points.
