
After four seasons with ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Erik Shoji has officially announced his departure from the Polish volleyball club. The American libero shared the news on his social media, expressing appreciation for the years spent with the team.
Shoji’s time in Kędzierzyn-Koźle was marked by several major achievements, including back-to-back Champions League titles in 2022 and 2023, a Polish Championship title in 2022. His calm presence and consistent performance helped solidify ZAKSA’s position among Europe’s top volleyball clubs.
Originally from California, Shoji has played in various leagues across Europe, gaining experience in Germany, Austria, Russia, and Italy before joining ZAKSA in 2020. His move to the Polish league proved to be one of the most successful periods of his career so far.
The 34-year-old libero expressed deep gratitude for his time in Poland, writing, “There are no words to describe all the emotions I’m feeling looking back at these four seasons… So much learned, so much growth. So many amazing people. I am so grateful. All I can say is… Thank You.”l.”
Although official confirmation is still pending, reports indicate that he is likely to continue his professional career in Poland, potentially with Asseco Resovia.
