Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie has made a important move ahead of the next clashes of the PlusLiga playoff finals—signing German star Georg Grozer as a medical transfer to replace injured opposite Karol Butryn.
Butryn suffered an ankle injury in the playoff semifinal and won’t return before the season ends. Grozer, who just wrapped up his season with Arkas Spor Izmir, joins the team with immediate effect under §63a of league rules.
Grozer, a former PlusLiga MVP and Champions League winner, will wear jersey no. 9 and may debut in the second final in Lublin. He’ll only play in the league, while Butryn aims to return for the Champions League Final Four.
An experienced and trusted addition, Grozer could be the game-changer Zawiercie needs.
