NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki fought hard through two dramatic five-set matches to claim back-to-back wins over defending champions Osaka Marvelous.

The opening clash on Friday saw NEC narrowly prevail 3-2 (25-23, 25-23, 21-25, 17-25, 15-13). The following day brought even more drama, as NEC mounted a comeback from two sets down to secure another 3-2 (22-25, 17-25, 25-18, 26-24, 19-17) victory.
In other matches, Victorina Himeji is on the top spot with two straight-set wins against Aranmare Yamagata, while Kurobe Aqua Fairies maintained their strong form with consecutive victories over Queenseis Kariya. Saga Hisamitsu Springs also delivered two solid performances on the road against Denso Airybees, and Gunma Green Wings continued their rise with a pair of weekend wins over PFU BlueCats. Toray Arrows Shiga finally found success, earning their first two victories of the season against Okayama Seagulls.
