In the last round of the pool stage, Dominican Republic outplayed Colombia in straight sets while Peru defeated Cuba. The attacker Brenda Lobatón was the figure of the match tying the record of 35 points for Peru.
As the winners of their pools, they automatically moved to semifinals while Mexico – Chile and Cuba – Colombia will play the quarterfinals.
