NORCECA Continental Championship Kicks Off: U.S. Dominates Opening Match Against Costa Rica

The 2023 NORCECA Senior Women’s Volleyball Continental Championship kicked off today at the Amphithéatre Desjardins-Université Laval, and it was a powerful start for the U.S. team. They made quick work of Costa Rica, sweeping them in a straight-set victory with scores of 25-3, 25-13, and 25-5.

Jordan Thompson emerged as the top scorer for Team USA, putting up 16 points. She was closely followed by Dana Rettke, who contributed an impressive 13 points.

In a one-sided affair, the U.S. team displayed their superiority in several key metrics. They led Costa Rica in attack points (43-12), blocking (8-1), and service points (8-1). On the Costa Rican side, Nicole Mata was the highest scorer with a total of 4 points.
