Final Six Pan American Cup W – Dominican Republic Triumphs Over Puerto Rico, USA Defeated Canada

In a thrilling five-set showdown, the Dominican Republic emerged victorious over Puerto Rico with a 3-2 win (25-22, 25-21, 28-30, 23-25, 16-14) on the third day of the 2024 Women’s NORCECA Final Six Pan American Cup.

Brayelin Martínez led the Dominican side with 24 points, supported by Bethania De La Cruz and Lisvel Eve Mejía with 14 and 12 points, respectively. Puerto Rico’s top scorers were Stephanie Rivera and Paola Santiago with 21 points each, and Neira Ortiz with 18 points. This victory secured the Dominican Republic the top spot in group B, setting them up to face Mexico, the second-place finisher in group A, in the semifinals.

In another match, the United States continued their winning streak, defeating Canada in straight sets (25-15, 25-21, 25-13). Sarah Franklin was the standout player for the United States with 12 points, with Carter Booth adding 9. For Canada, Abagayle Guezen scored 12 points and Emonia Busch 6. The United States will face Puerto Rico in the other semifinal clash.
