MANATÍ, Puerto Rico,— Puerto Rico extended their winning streak at the NORCECA Women’s Final Four tournament with a dominant straight-set win over Trinidad and Tobago (25-17, 25-9, 25-10) at the Juan Aubin Cruz Abreu Coliseum.
Puerto Rico’s performance was all-around strong, leading in kills (41-17), blocks (7-2), and serve aces (9-0). They maintained better control throughout, committing fewer errors than their opponents.
Paola Santiago led the way with 12 points, and Valeria Vazquez chipped in with 9. Destiny Leon was the top scorer for Trinidad and Tobago with 8 points.
Meanwhile, Mexico also stayed perfect in the competition after sweeping Costa Rica (25-15, 25-13, 25-18). Melanie Parra stood out with 11 points, followed by Grecia Castro with 8.
The NORCECA Women’s Final Four is hosted by the Puerto Rican Volleyball Federation and features a lineup of Puerto Rico, Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, and Costa Rica. Cuba’s withdrawal due to travel issues has intensified the battle among the remaining teams in this round-robin format. With this latest win, Puerto Rico remains on track to defend their title
