Mexico and Puerto Rico both secured straight-set victories on the second day of the NORCECA Men’s Final Four, setting up a key matchup between the two undefeated teams.

Mexico defeated the Dominican Republic 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-19) at a full BUAP Arena. Opposite Ridl Alexis Garay led Mexico with 15 points, followed by Aguirre with 13.
“We were nervous yesterday, but today we felt more in control,” Garay said. “Tomorrow will be tough against Puerto Rico, but we’re ready.”
For the Dominican Republic, Moisés A. Ortíz led with 7 points, including five blocks. “Mexico played well, but we’re proud of our effort and looking to learn from the experience,” he said.
In the earlier match, Puerto Rico also earned a 3-0 win (25-21, 25-16, 25-19) over Guatemala. After a close first set, Puerto Rico took control, with Pelegrin Vargas scoring 12 points.
“We rotated the lineup to give younger players a chance, and they responded well,” Vargas said.
Guatemala’s Jason Hernández and Andy Leonardo led their team with 7 and 6 points, respectively.
Mexico and Puerto Rico will meet tomorrow.
