It’s the USA’s fifth medal overall in the event — bronze in 2021 and 2022, then gold in 2023, 2024, and now 2025. For Puerto Rico, the silver marks their first-ever medal in the tournament’s history.

The opening set was tight, with both teams trading points until the U.S. pulled ahead late to win 27–25. Puerto Rico started strong in the second, but the Americans rallied and kept the lead to close 25–20. In the third, Puerto Rico led 15–10 before the U.S. stormed back to win 25–21 and seal the victory.

The Americans dominated in attacks (35–34), blocks (8–5), and serves (8–5), while committing fewer errors (22 vs. 29). Kyler Wade led with 13 points and Patrick Rogers added 12. Pedro Molina topped Puerto Rico with 14.

Assistant coach Luka Slabe praised the team’s growth: “We just had one practice together, but every day we got better and never backed down.” Captain Sebastiano Sani added, “It’s an awesome feeling. We came together quickly and did something special.”

Puerto Rico’s coach Jamille Torres was proud despite the loss: “This medal makes me very happy. It shows we’re on the right path for the future.”

In the bronze medal match, the Dominican Republic swept Mexico (25–23, 25–21, 25–22), earning their first-ever NORCECA Final Six medal. Adrian Figueroa led all scorers with 19 points, while Ridl Garay had 16 for Mexico.
