Hancock
Once again Micha Hancock bombed her rivals from a service line, but this time she managed to tie the tournament record of aces in a single match, unlike in Round 1. Thus, she helped US National Team beat Cuba in Pool B derby 3-2 (19-25, 25-20, 18-25, 25-15, 15-7).
Hancock scored 9 aces, leveling with compatriot Nicole Brannagh who has been holding the record since the game versus Puerto Rico in 2002. Alexandra Holston was the top scorers for the United States with 16 points. Heidy Rodríguez was the main offensive option for Cuba with 17.
Other two teams which kept perfect 3-0 record so far are: Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico both in Pool A.
