The top seed Vasas Óbuda (16-4, 51 points) regained the Hungarian Women’s Volleyball title after five years.
By prevailing in Game 3 of the 2018/19 Extra Liga playoff finals against the second seed Fatum Nyíregyháza (16-3, 44 points) in straight sets (25-11, 25-14, 25-22), Vasas Óbuda swept the series to lift the trophy for the best team in the country for the sixth time in the club history.
It could have easily happened that Nyíregyháza play this match without their head coach László Hollósy as he was excluded in Game 2. But, he was allowed to direct his team. Still, it did not help the last season’s runners-up to extend the final series.
Bernadett Dékány was the best scorer for Vasas in Game 3 with 14 points. Canadian Danielle Brisebois was the only player in double digits in Nyíregyháza with 10 points.
2018/19 Extra Liga playoff finals – Game 3:
(1) Vasas Óbuda – (2) Fatum Nyíregyháza 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-22), series 3-0
