The team that was fifth-placed in the Japanese top division last season, Denso Airybees, won an inaugural edition of the Taichung Bank International Invitation. The Airybees finished the round-robin tournament with an unbeaten record (4-0) and by not dropping a single set (12-0), earning a maximum of 12 points.
In the last round, the club based in Nishio city swept the home side of Top Speed by a 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-20). The international from Trinidad and Tobago, Sinead Jack, wore the jersey of Denso in the tournament, which means that she will stay in the club for one more season.
The Taichung Bank International Invitation tournament had attracted five teams, including Denso Airybees (Japan), PetroGazz Angels (the Philippines – Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference Season 3 champions), Thailand National Team (mostly composed of U23 squad) and two home sides – Top Speed and CMFC.
