JTEKT Stings are absolute leaders in the charts of the 2019/20 V.League Division 1 Men regular season. They beat Ōita Miyoshi Weisse Adler by a 3-1 (25-21, 26-24, 21-25, 25-19) and kept the perfect record 6-0 (18 points). The team based in Kariya made a significant leap this season compared to the previous one in which they even failed to qualify for the Top 6 stage, let alone for the play-offs. Today, the Stings were led by the duo Yuji Nishida – Matey Kaziyski. The first one scored 23 points, while Bulgarian tallied 21 points, including 5 kill blocks. Filipino Bryan Bagunas scored 22 points for the losing side.
The champions Panasonic Panthers are keeping up with the Stings, settling just behind them in the charts with 5-1 and 15 points. They beat JT Thunders Hiroshima in the big match at home by a 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-22) and squeezed them out from the No.2. Kunihiro Shimizu led Panthers with 16 points. Australian Thomas Edgar had no proper support from his teammates in the Thunders. He poured in 25 points.
