MEVZA W: All-Slovenian duel to decide new champions

Two Slovenian clubs will decide the winners of the 2019/20 MEVZA Women’s Volleyball League, whose Final 4 is held in their country, more precisely in the city of Nova Gorica.

The Middle European League (MEVZA League), contested by the clubs from the Middle European Volleyball Zonal Association (MEVZA), reached its climax as 2 clubs from Slovenia will vie for the title.

Led by Serbian Olivera Brulec Kostić, who scored 12 points, 3rd seed OK Calcit Kamnik (7-5) swept 2nd seed ŽOK Bimal-Jedinstvo Brčko (8-4) from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the semifinals: 3-0 (25-17, 25-10, 25-13). Anđelka Radišković delivered 13 points for the losings side.

In the other semifinal duel, which was all-Slovenian, No.1 seed Nova KBM Branik Maribor (10-2) had to work hard against the Final 4 hosts and No.5 seed GEN-I Volley Nova Gorica (5-7): 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 23-25, 25-23).
