In the big match of Round 17 of the 2019/20 Superliga Parimatch regular season, in which they had the role of underdogs because of the placement in the standings, Zenit-Kazan wrecked vice-leaders Dinamo Moscow to progress by 2 positions, from the 5th to the 3rd position, and tie with today’s opponents at 33 points. At the same time, the team coached by Aleksey Verbov ended Dinamo Moscow’s winning streak that consisted of 6 games. The Frenchman Earvin Ngapeth led Zenit-Kazan with 18 points. Romanas Shkulyavichus was the only payer in double digits in scoring for the losing side with 10 points.

Ural achieved a sensational victory! The team based in Ufa (10th in the charts) swept titleholders Kuzbass, who fell to the 4th position.

While losing to Kuzbass and Lokomotiv in the previous 2 rounds couldn’t be considered as surprising (knowing both are title contenders), suffering a defeat to Belogorie (8th placed) was highly surprising for Fakel and their fans.

By recording the 9th win in a row in all competitions (5th in a row in Superliga), Lokomotiv firmly hold the top spot in the charts with 8 points more than a duo of the closest followers, Dinamo Moscow and Zenit-Kazan. The team from Novosibirsk beat Zenit Saint-Petersburg in 4 sets.
