Following the cancelation of the 2020 Olympic Games due to coronavirus pandemic, the IRIVF decided to offer the men’s national team head coach Kolaković a contract termination by mutual agreement.
The Montenegrin expert had a valid contract with the IRIVF until September 2020. The Director of the governing body of Iranian volleyball said that they will most likely choose a foreign coach again, which will lead the national team in the Summer Games in 2021.
Kolaković was at the helm of Iran Men since February 2017 when he replaced Argentinean Raúl Lozano.
