Famous Russian player Spiridonov signed a one-year contract with the Qatari club Al-Ahli, we learned from our sources.

Earlier, the 2013 CEV EuroVolley winner couldn’t sign a contract with the Greek side Olympiacos S.F.P. who canceled the transfer that was agreed. The 32-year-old outside hitter, known as a “bad boy of volleyball”, spent the last season in Ural. Al-Ahli will be the first club abroad in his career.

A few days ago, the Qatari Volleyball Association (QVA) reached the decision to resume the men’s championship that was interrupted in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. The two top-placed clubs in the regular season, Al-Arabi and Police, will play for the title. The series will start on September 10 and end on September 18. As for the 2020/21 season, it will set off on October 19.
