Rivan, the mainstay of the Indonesia National Team, will play for Japan’s VC Nagano Tridents this season.

Thus, a 25-year-old opposite hitter has joined the V.League in the second attempt. The first time Rivan has been linked with a club in Japan was before the 2019 Southeast Asian Games (SEA) Games, in which his national team won the gold medal largely thanks to him, but he was hampered by the Indonesian federation (PBVSI) which didn’t issue him a permit.

Rivan won the MVP award in the Indonesian Championship twice (2016 and 2018). The MVP and a winner of the 2018/19 Thai league while wearing the jersey of Nakhon Ratchasima spent the last season in Surabaya Samator in his home country.
