In the final match in Tokyo, the JTEKT Stings defeated Panasonic Panthers by a 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 25-13, 25-22) and won the Emperor’s Cup (a counterpart to the national cup in most countries) for the first time in the club history. Thus, in less than a year, the Stings put one more trophy in their showcase, both for the first time ever (championship title in February).
Yuji Nishida highlighted the final, putting down 37 points.
Just like the Stings, the JT Marvelous united two titles this year. In the women’s (Empress’s Cup) final, they swept Toray Arrows (3-0: 25-21, 25-18, 25-17) and claimed their first-ever trophy in the competition.
