The Cuban international Nancy Carrillo will bring a lot of experience to CV CCO 7 Palmas in their battle for the title in the Spanish Championship. A 35-year-old player is able to cover two positions in the team, the middle blocker’s (which is her natural position) and opposite hitter’s (which she played in the last few years).
Carrillo has had a rich career which, in addition to defending the colors of the Cuba National Team (one-time gold medalist in the NORCECA Championship, Pan American Cup, and Pan American Games) she spent in Russia, Brazil, Switzerland, China, and France. The winner of numerous individual awards on an international level (one-time Best Spiker in the FIVB World Cup and NORCECA Championship, one-time Best Blocker in the FIVB World Grand Prix, MVP in the NORCECA Championship…) was inactive for nearly two years prior to signing with her current club in Spain.
The last club for which she competed before Las Palmas was France’s Volero Le Cannet (2018/19).
