Ultimately, the team coached by Italian Roberto Santilli prevailed in Game 5 by a 3-1 (24-26, 28-26, 27-25, 25-17) in front of its sown fans and wrote a new chapter in the club history, winning both the regular season and playoffs for the first time ever.
Cuban Yosvany Hernández was Jumbos’ top scorer in a decider with 27 points, including 5 aces. Portuguese Alexandre Ferreira tallied 26 points for Woori, who took part in the championship face-off for the first time since entering the V-League in 2013.
