The Thailand Women’s Volleyball National Team won’t play the VNL 2021, becoming the second team (the China Men’s NT withdrew, too) to withdraw from the prestigious annual event organized by the FIVB.

As many as 22 members (including players and staff) have been diagnosed with Covid-19. Initially, 4 members of the Thai team were tested positive during preparations for the VNL in Nakhon Pathom. After that, swabs were taken from all team members and staff in the Bangkok hospital and 22 had positive tests. All were asymptomatic.

Due to this, the team was unable to prepare for this tournament at a determined pace so the Thailand Volleyball Association (TVA) promptly notified FIVB of the withdrawal of the national team from the VNL.
