Knack ROESELARE has already made sure it finishes atop of the charts and will claim one of two spots at stake for Europe’s elite competition.

Last year’s national champions of Noliko have gone through ups and downs in the Playoffs by alternating good performances and disastrous matches. They showed their worst side also this past Saturday as they lost to Argex Duvel PUURS. Noliko actually caught a good start claiming the first set with the score of 25-13, kept momentum also in the second but ultimately their opponents brought it home after a very close final rush (27-29). Argex Duvel imposed their rule in set 3 (25-19) but Noliko responded by calling for the tie-break after seizing the fourth set (25-19). There the guys mentored by head coach Brecht Van Kerckhove could not capitalize on seven match balls and lost the match 2:3 (20-22).

On Wednesday Noliko will have a last chance to finish second in the standings of the Playoffs while hosting Prefaxis MENEN at Lotto Dôme. The winner of this clash will claim the second Belgian spot for the next edition of the CEV Volleyball Champions League and play Knack ROESELARE in a Championship series with the format “best of five”. Two former players of Noliko – Dragan Radovic and Kristof Hoho, a native of Maaseik – who are currently representing the likes of Prefaxis MENEN will contribute additional flavor to this much anticipated game.
