AVC M: Al Rayyan SC favored the Dual of two Arabian Teams

Al Rayyan SC favored the dual of the Arabian teams of Iraq and Qatar in AVC Men’s Club Championship. In the third day of AVC Men’s Club Championship in the second match of the day Al Rayyan SC beat his rival South Gas Club 3:2 (23-25, 18-25, 25-22, 25-18, 15-8). Al Rayyan SC stays as the first team of the pool B in addition to confirm his second victory in preliminary round. Thus, the first three teams of pool B are respectively Al Rayyan SC, South Gas Club, and Uzbekistan Club.

Worth to report that player with shirt number 6 from Al Rayyan SC received a yellow card due to his consistent objection to the referee. The first and second referees were respectively from Emirate and Lebanon.

The head coach of South Gas Club, Mr. Abdulsattar Alaa who accepted a loss to Al Rayyan SC in the second play of preliminary round despite moving up to the second round of AVC Men’s Club Championship commented: “Al Rayyan SC is a powerful team; we no longer fear the potent teams. We were good in the first two sets but unfortunately my players lost their concentration afterward to entrust the opportunity to the opposite team”. He also said: “My players are so young, the oldest of whom is 22 years old, Al Rayyan SC on the contrary is an experienced team.” He continued: “We wished to win this play but we failed. We are now ready to play the powerful teams such as Kaleh.

The head coach of Al Rayyan SC, Mr. Ljubomir Travica that moved up as the first team of his pool to the second round explained regarding the victory against South Gas Club: “I am happy that changes in our tactics worked. We have started our beginning sets with problem and we have lost our concentration”. He added: “In the third set, after substituting some of my players along with changing their tactics, the team regained their fighting spirit. Of course, I believe that the fifth set is always mine”.

Regarding the play against Liaoning Club, he indicated: “It is not still definite whether we would play against Toyoda Gosei Trefuerza or Saham. It is of course not very much important for us; all that matters is to play hard and win. Tomorrow is a new day and we have to concentrate on new games.”
