Joining Guatemala, currently ranked 14th in NORCECA, are St. Kitts & Nevis (21), Aruba (30) and Guadeloupe (33) to competing under a preliminary round-robin format.
The top two teams will advance to the third round of NORCECA qualifiers scheduled in early 2014. The last ticket will be granted to the third place team with the best ranking among the six groups of this year’s qualifiers.
In the first-round events of 2012, St. Kitts & Nevis finished in first place as hosts of the NORCECA Group D tournament, while Guadeloupe and Guatemala took second place in Group A and H in Trinidad & Tobago and Nicaragua, respectively. Aruba finished in third place of Group E hosted by Jamaica.
This is the fifth qualifier of the second-round women’s tournaments which will be completed with Group N competition to be hosted by Grenada on June 21-24.
