WCHY W: Dominican Republic beat Slovenia in a thrilling game

World No. 8 Dominican Republic came back from set behind to achieve an exciting 3-1 (22-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-23) win against Slovenia in Pool C of FIVB Girls' U18 World Championship at Chatchi Hall.

Now Dominican improved their win- loss ratio at the end of the preliminary to 2-2, while Slovenia dropped to the same ratio 2-2 but Slovenia finished third of the pool ahead of Dominican who finished fourth by set ratio rule.

Starting with a little disturbance in defence, Dominican team regained their motivated rhythm to win three successive sets due to the regular marvelous performance of the sisters Elizabeth and Natalia Martinez. The older Elizabeth was as usual the best performing player and coming out as the best scorer with 23 points including 3 stuff blocks, while the younger Natalia was the second scorer with 14 points.

From the Slovenian side Saša Zdovc was the best scorer with 11 points followed by Katja Mihalinec 8.
