I thought it would be a difficult game to win today. It went to five sets but I think we performed well. I’m satisfied thus far as we won six times playing away and only lost two overall.” said Manabe.

Japan captain Saori Kimura:

“We managed to improve on our recent bad point of starting slowly, so that was a plus. But we still made a lot of small mistakes in this game and we must solve this for the Finals.”

Czech Republic coach Carlo Parisi:

“I’m happy about today’s match but sorry for the 3-2 loss. But this can happen when a team like ours is playing catch-up with the other team in the match and the other team is strong. I’m happy with all three matches here in terms of how the team has raised its level, day by day, step by step. At the end of the match, we made some mistakes but this can happen for a young team like ours. So I want to compliment my team for their attention and approach. I’m happy with them.”

Czech Republic captain Aneta Havlickova:

“I think today we didn’t start so good; we didn’t do what we had talked about in our meeting. But then we became more aggressive and played a good game, but we made mistakes and we must take something from the match.”
