China coach Lang Ping:

„I asked the players to concentrate and get into the game as soon as possible. The Serbia team is very powerful at the net, especially in hitting and blocking. And I asked my players to be patient and improve our cover systems. And they did a pretty good job. They served well and did pretty well during the game but still have some parts where they are inconsistent. When the other team served better, we still faced difficult moments“

China captain Hui Ruoqi:

„We are very happy to win this match. I think Serbia are a strong team with very tall spikers and strong attackers. We still have a lot to improve on in the rest of the matches.“

About challenge system:

„ We have very professional referees but they are human beings and sometimes human beings make mistakes and sometimes there are controversial calls so I think it’s a good thing for the sport. The challenge system gives us a chance to fight for our rights.“

Serbia coach Zoran Terzić:

„First of all I’d like to congratulate China. They played well enough to win against Serbia but we made their job much easier with many mistakes today. I don’t know the reason why we started so bad; we have to look forward and think about our next games.“

Captain of Serbia Maja Ognjenović:

“I’d like to congratulate China for the win. We didn’t start very well and one reason why we lost today is because we didn’t serve very well. We knew if China had good reception it would be very difficult to play against them. Now we have to look forward and think about the USA and give our best in the next matches.“

About challenge system:

„I think it was a good experience, for sure. Referees can sometimes make mistakes so if they are not sure I think it’s easier for them also.“ said Ognjenović.
