The home team determine to win the title had no considerations over a relentless Honduras that began dominating in the first set, managed to keep close in the second and couldn’t keep up in the third set.
This El Salvador’s second title in the history of the tournament, they last obtained the gold in 1990 during the fourth edition in Honduras. The second place went to Nicaragua and third place to Guatemala.
Honduras contained El Salvador with 10-7 advantage in blocking while El Salvador held 9-4 advantage in serves and 29-24 in spikes.
Samuel Valdez was the best scorer for El Salvador with 13 points and Mauricio Rivas added 13. For Honduras, Watler Ornello registered 14 points and Jonathan Massu 11 points.
