It has been a busy year for the Czech Volleyball Federation who have held a number of volleyball related events as part of their long term youth orientation project.

The programme, known locally as ‘Minivolleyball in colours’, comprises five categories – local tournaments, two regional tournaments and a national festival organised every year.

This year’s regional indoor tournament was organised in Jablonec nad Nisou in May, which saw the participation of 840 children while 520 children took part in the regional outdoor tournament held a month later in Brno, Bohunice. The national outdoor festival – also held in June – in Brno, Kounicova had 950 children participating in different volleyball tournaments.

Winners of each age group were awarded a medal and all participants were given festival t-shirts.

Although the initial time period for the project was three years, its success has ensured that it will be continued for a long time to come.
