Kenya will face African champions Egypt, Cape Verde, Botswana and Zambia at the Moi International Sports Center, for a ticket to the most prestigious event in men’s international volleyball behind the Olympics: the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championships 2014 Poland.
Kenya’s team will consist of: Daniel Kiptoo, Elisha Aliwa (setters); Saul Wafula, Wesley Rono, Sila Makiso (center); Dennis Mokua, Cornelius Kiplagat, Michael Chemos (right) and Bernard Musumba, James Ontere, Philip Maiyo (right) and John Ndung’u (libero).
Libero Ndung’u, who plays for M-Roma of Italy is a new edition to the team. Maiyo is the captain, assisted by Aliwa.
Head coach Gideon Chenje announced the squad after morning training at Safaricom Indoor Arena Monday.
