WCHQ W: Cameroon and Egypt in race for final African ticket

The Cameroon women's volleyball team continued to lead the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship Italy 2014 Africa Pool T qualifier in Alger, Algeria after recording their fourth win from five matches with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-13) win over Botswana on Friday.

The tournament’s sixth day of play saw Egypt record their fourth win, beating Nigeria.  Algeria recovered from a fifth day defeat by recording their third victory against  DR Congo

Egypt will play  Algeria in a World Championship ticket decider on the last day of the tournament with the second match featuring  Congo and Botswana. With three points on offer for a 3-0 or 3-1 win or two points for a 3-2 victory, Egypt will clinch the World Championship ticket if they win due to a superior set ratio, however if they lose to Algeria,Cameroon, who have finished their matches, will book their ticket to the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship Italy 2014, which will take place from September 23 to October 12, on points.

Algeria – Congo 3-0 (25-8, 25-12, 25-8)

Egypt – Algeria
