In a commanding performance, OTP Banka Branik defeated Calcit Volley 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-19) in Kamnik, marking a strong start to the season for the Maribor team. Elsewhere, Koper beat GEN-I Volley 3-1, Radovljica lost 0-3 to Šempeter, and Ankaran secured a 3-1 win over Grosuplje.
Despite their past dominance, reigning champions Calcit Volley couldn’t match Branik’s energy. Notable moments included Sonja Danilović’s serving streak, which shifted the momentum in the first set, while Žana Halužan Sagadin’s serves sealed the deal in the second and third sets.
Iza Mlakar led the game with 15 points for Branik, with Kamnik’s Asja Šen and Maša Pucelj managing 10 points each in a tough loss.
