The match between Thailand and Chinese Taipei was in focus since Thai team defends gold medal from 2013 . Thailand had more balanced both, offense and defense and secured its first win in Pool B – 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-19).

In the same Pool, Hong Kong overpowered very competitive outsiders, Sri Lanka, also in straight sets.
In Pool C, Vietnam beat rejuvenated Japan although it was down 0-2 in sets – 16-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-22 and 18-16.
Also in Pool C, since Turkmenistan canceled its participation in the tournament, Mongolia won 3 points at the opener of ACH without a fight.
The same happened in Pool A where China gained 3 points since Fiji dropped out. Iran was better than India in four sets.
In Pool B, Australia overcame Philippines while South Korea didn’t have problems versus Kazakhstan.
