Marcel Lux was unstoppable in Slovakia with 19 points while Peter Ondrovič and Tomáš Kriško added 14. In Italy, Andrea Galliani scored 12 and Elia Bossi 11 points for Italy.
In the same pool, Bulgaria overpowered young team of Belgium in five sets with 26 from Jani Jeliazkov! On the other side, Jolan Cox had 23.
In Pool A, Turkey beat Serbia in 4 sets, in a derby and thus, won all 3 points at the opening.
Finland made a remarkable turnaround after trailing 2-0 in sets against Azerbaijan, but won after the tie-break. Karl Külaots had 27 for the winning team.
