EG M: Slovakia beats Belgium, France merciless, Serbia eliminates Finland

With an eye set on the next round of the tournament, Slovakia and Belgium played very interesting match of Pool B at the 1st European games in Baku.

Slovakia beat the opponent with 3-1 (25-22, 19-25, 25-21, 25-19) and put them on the verge of elimination for the tournament after 4 rounds.     

The Slovak team showed a greater confidence and strength, thus being able to even win the second place in its pool, but for that effort it needs Germany to lose to Italy, for the start.

Tomáš Kriško scored 18 points in Slovakia while François Lecat collected the same amount of points in Belgium.

In Pool A, French national team showed superiority once more by beating Turkey in straigh sets, partially 25-23, 25-19, 25-16.

This loss won’t cost Turkey a lot as they secured their place in the quarter-finals.

Guillaume Quesque produced a larger number of points in France (12), Burutay Subaşı scored 9 for Turkey.

Serbia eliminated Finland from the competition with a clear win in the same pool.

Serbs swept out the opponent with 25-16, 28-26, 25-20 with 19 from Dušan Petković.

In the Finnish team, Ossi Rumpunen scored 12 points.
