In the quarterfinal USA defeated Cuba 3-1 (25-18, 25-19, 22-25, 25-18) while Puerto Rico was better than Argentina – 3-2 (25-21, 25-27, 25-10, 11-25, 15-13).
Karina Ocasio was top scorer with 24 points in Puerto Rican team. Krista Vansant topped USA with 16 points followed by Nicole Fawcett and Kristin Hildebrand with 14 and 11 points,
For the place in the final, USA will play against Dominican Republic while Puerto Rico will face Brazi.
