ECH W: Poland outplayed Slovenia and went to playoffs

Poland took the last chance to go to playoffs stage of the European Championship 2015. After they have defeated Slovenia in straight sets - 25-18, 25-19, 25-21, they clinched third place in Pool A and went to the next round. On the other side Slovenia finished their adventure at EuroVolley.

The first set was quite equal. Teams played point by point until the second TTO when Poland had +2 (16-14). After that break Polish girls played on much better level and easily finished  the first set – 25-18.

Poland opened the second set with 6-4 and with good service of Skowronska they went on TTO with 8-6. After 17-12 everything was clear and very quickly Poland finished this set – 25-19.

The third set was the most interesting because Polish team had 18-11, but Slovenia came back to 21-20 mostly thanks to good play by Recek and Cvetanovic. However, Skowronska made block for 23-20, Werblinska then scored for match point 24-20, while Kurnikowska ended the set – 25-21.

Top scorers, Poland : Kurnikowska 14, Skowronska Dolata 12, Werblinska 11. Slovenia: Recek 15, Cvetanovic 8.
