Not even reigning champions at home court were not sufficiently high barrier for V-League leaders, JT Thunders Hiroshima – Toyoda Gosei Trefuerza 1-3 (20-25, 19-25, 25-22, 14-25).
Croatian setter Igor ’The Emperor’ Omrčen has many efficient seasons behind him, but it seems that he entirely found himself in the current season.
He crushed title holders with 29 points (6 aces) while Takuya Takamatsu added 16. It is worth mentioning that Trefuerza’s setter Shohei Uchiyama had 6 blocks!
On the ither side, Brazilian Leandro Vissotto collected 25 points. Yu Koshikawa contributed with 14.
In the other Saturday’s match of Round 8, Sakai Blazers easily defeated F.C. Tokyo Volleyball Team 3-0 with 19 from Bosnian Milan Pepić. Yusuke Ishijima added 12.
In losing team, Dai Tezuka scored 15 points. Brazilian Sergio Felix had 13.
