Italian ’dream-team’ prevailed over Czech champions VK Dukla Liberec in away match of Pool E 3-0 (25-18, 26-24, 25-15) even without Cuban-born Osmany Juantorena who spent entire match on the bench and Serbian Ivan Miljković who entered briefly in the second set only.

Liberec missed their chance in Set 1 when they dropped a three-point lead in the finish.

Serbian Marko Podraščanin topped Lube’s scorers with 17 points! What a performance it was if we know that he’s a middle blocker! He had as much as 17 attacks and 82% od effectiveness!

In Liberec, Slovak Tomáš Kriško and Pole Adrian Patucha had 10 each.

Polish silver medalists Lotos Trefl Gdańsk settled at the second place of Pool F after beating hosts, Slovenian ACH Volley Ljubljana in straight sets with 15 points from Mateusz Mika. American Eric Mochalski apsolutely stood out in Ljubljana with 18.
