It happened – Shanghai suffered their first defeat in Chinese top division this season!

Sichuan vs. Shanghai

Reigning champions couldn’t cope with the absence of two best scorers, Italians Cristian Savani and Giulio Sabbi and with one of rare opponents that could take that advantage, Sichuan 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-17).

It was a Pool 1 derby and now both teams are equaled in the standings with 7-1 record, but with Shanghai having one point more.

Polish duo in Sichuan stood out, as usual – Zbigniew Bartman 15 points and Michał Łasko (ex-player of Italy’s NT) 11 points. Li Chunhui had 12 in Shanghai.

After this, Beijing remained the only undefeated team in China. They prevailed over Guangdong in Pool 2 even without two international stars, Australian Thomas Edgar and Cuban Leonel Marshall. Jiang Chuan showed that Beijing can rely on domestic forces. He scored 28 points!

The star of the night was Tang Chuanhang, the opposite of a second placed team in Pool 2, Bayi, who scored 30 points in a victory of his team against Shandong 3-1 (21-25, 25-18, 27-25, 27-25).
