After downing champions JT Thunders Hiroshima in opening round, Toray caused second defeat to JTEKT Stings 3-1 (25-18, 21-25, 28-26, 25-23).
The Macedonian Nikola Gjorgiev is still on the run! He scored 18 points and was the most efficient player in his team while Takaaki Tomimatsu stood out in blocking (4). Bulgarian Matey Kaziyski was the best scorer in Stings with 25 points (4 blocks).
On the wings of ’The Croatian Emperor’ Igor Omrčen, Trefuerza became the second team to take off the crown of title holders Thunders in Top 6.
Omrčen had 43 points (6 aces) in 3-2 win of his team, partially 21-25, 22-25, 28-26, 25-17, 15-9! Shohei Uchiyama contributed with 4 blocks. On the other side, Brazilian Leandro Vissotto collected 31 point (4 aces) but couldn’t stop his team’s downfall after they took first two sets.
