After he finished the season in China, many clubs wanted to sign Thomas Edgar for the Playoffs in their countries. However, he decided to turn down all offers. This is the reason:
“Just an update for everyone, I’ve returned home to Australia following my season in Beijing. Despite a few offers to join European clubs for the conclusion of their seasons. I’ve decided that the best decision for me moving forward is to rest and regroup in Australia before joining the national team in Italy for Olympic Qualification preparation. Knowing how physically and mentally demanding the qualification process is, I want my body and mind ready to face all the tough challenges awaiting us in Japan and beyond. Either way I’m looking forward to another big year wearing the green and gold,” wrote Edgar on his Instagram profile.
