Suwon Hyundai Engineering & Construction made huge stunt by qualifying into playoff finals of Korean championship as third placed from regular stage!

Hyundai defeated Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders in Game 2 as well, did a so-called sweep 3-1 (18-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-16) and will clash with reigning champions IBK Altos in big finals of V-League.

At some moments of regular stage, Hyundai seemed rushing towards pole position and straight qualification for playoff finals, but succumbed to pressure in the finish falling to third place in the standings. But, they corrected it by prevailing tough team of Pink Spiders in semis and secured spot in finals for the fifth time ever (one title in 2010/2011 and three silver medals).

Yang Hyo-Jin had 20 points for Hyundai while Lee Jae-Yeong scored 15 for losing team. This time, American players on both sides Alexis Olgard (Pink Spiders) and Emily Hartong (Huyndai) were in a shadow of domestic stars.

Playoff finals will begin on March 17 with Altos having home court advantage as top-seeded.

Please refer to Kovo.co.kr website for correction to your article. Heungkuk had more win than Hyundai at the end of the regular season but Hyundai came 2nd because they had more points.
